50 Cent's Baby Mama's House Set On Fire!!!

A suspicious fire burned through a house owned by rapper 50 Cent in Dix Hills, New York. The house was occupied by his ex girlfriend, Shaniqua Tompkins, and their 10 year old son, Marquise. Six people were taken to the hospital, including the two, for smoke inhalation.
Dix Hills Fire Department Chief Larry Feld told MTV News the blaze was "definitely suspicious." When pressed for details, Feld said, "I would say there is a strong possibility that it is suspicious because of the rapid movement of the fire, the volume of the fire that we had upon arrival, and the intensity. When I arrived — and I got there early — the whole first floor and second floor was engulfed, and the home was totally gutted.

"Let's put it this way," he continued, "this wasn't your ordinary fire."
50Cent attempted to have his baby mama and his son removed from the home in April, unless they paid him rent. The case was due to be heard in Court on June 10th.
50 Cent was on location in Louisiana, filming for a new movie. He expressed concern for everyone in the house, including his son and baby mama, and was grateful no one was hurt.

Oh Damn - The R-Kelly Trial Is Really Heating Up!!

The R. Kelly pornography trial is really heating up with some surprises recently. On Wednesday, his defense team asked the judge for more time, because they had just received a telephone call from a surprise witness. The judge granted them a temporary halt to the trial while arrangements were made to fly the unnamed witness to the trial location. "We never knew about this witness until 9 a.m. this morning, when he called us," Kelly defense attorney Sam Adam Sr. told the court. They want to interview the witness because this person has information which may discredit the threesome allegations. This may be good news for Mr. Kelly. He seems to need it because all witnesses so far has pointed him out as the person in the self - made pornography tapes.

From the moment he announced he was engaged & his new fiance was pregnant, everyone has had an opinion about Usher. Well, he has some opinions of his own & had no problem sharing them with Entertainment Weekly. He spoke about the blogs, radio, & gossip mags criticizing Tameka, "I was reading very hurtful things about the person that I chose to love...What about the fact that in our society there are not enough fathers for our black young men? And here I am being a great example and we don't embrace that?!. He went even further & spilled the beans about his mama being replaced by Benny Medina as his manager, "I'm pretty sure that my mother would want to forever manage me...I feel like I'm at a point where I wanna grow, be able to handle my business firsthand, and understand every facet of it." Aww...how sad. Perhaps Usher just needs to take a chill pill & realize that although he's in love, he can't shove that women down every one's throat. Single ladies, good news for you: Rumour has it that after 9 months of marriage, Usher has filed for a separation from his wife, Tameka. According to YBF.com, Usher actually filed the divorce 2 weeks ago and speculation is that this separation may have been caused by previous rumours that the baby may not be his or the beef between Tameka and Usher's Mom was true. Tameka has appeared with Usher recently for his MTV snippet tapings. We wish them both the best, but only time will tell if Usher is really heading for that place called Splitsville.

After all of the success Usher had with his "Confessions" cd, no one could blame the man for taking a break. While he was gone, we've seen a few people come around & try to fill his shoes. Chris Brown & Ne-Yo come to mind, but they are NOT Usher. "Here I Stand" is definitely not a carbon copy of "Confessions", but he's back & most importantly, no matter who comes along, there's only 1 Usher! This cd is a bit more mature - meaning he sings a lot more about sex! It's a bit ironic that so many are trying to be the next Usher, but in listening to this disc, I'm wondering if Usher may want to be the next R. Kelly (o.k., he doesn't take it quite as far as R. Kelly does, but he comes close). With a cd filled with radio hits & love-making tunes, I felt the most touching song was track #7, the "Prayer For You (Interlude). In the time that he's been gone, Usher has gotten married & become a father. It was so incredibly nice to hear something so personal from a man that has definitely grown as an artist, he's a true class act. Overall, "Here I Stand" is more than worthy of your purchase and does not disappoint!

You can feel the swagga from both artists on this track and the chemistry is there as these two friends create a pretty good single for their fans. In my opinion it is not as good a club banger as, "Love in the Club", previously released by Usher, but it is ok.

Rihanna did a radio interview with Power 105.1's The Ed Lover Show and of course Chris Brown's name came up. Ed Lover really tried to get her to admit she & Chris were boyfriend/girlfriend. He asked how they were doing & she replied, "We're great actually. We have been friends for 3 years now". The DJ wasn't having any of that, and playfully teased her about the two being seen all hugged up. He even started singing Chris Brown's "Kiss Kiss"! To that, all she'd give us was, "We are very good friends". She tried hard to keep her privacy in check, but Ed Lover didn't make that easy when he mentioned all of those pics of her & Chris Breezy chillin' in a pool in Jamaica. Congrats are in order! With 267,000 digital download sales, Rihanna's "Take a Bow" is expected to jump from #53 to #1 today. This makes Ri-Ri the very first female artist to have the biggest jump to the top spot on Billboard's Hot 100. She is 2nd only to Maroon 5's "Makes Me Wonder", which went from #64 to #1 in May 2007. Coincidentally, the collaboration between Rihanna & Maroon 5 with "If I Never See Your Face Again," is expected to make a pretty high debut as well.

Jury Selected For R. Kelly Trial

After much anticipation for R. Kelly's long awaited child pornography trial to begin, a jury has finally been seated. With all the drama surrounding this case, no one should've expected a jury selection of Kelly's peers would be easy. Both sides made passionate arguments and as we've seen time & time again, they just couldn't help but play that dreaded RACE CARD. R. Kelly's lawyers objected to the prosecution's last 2 peremptory challenges (booting someone without needing a reason), on a Black man & Asian woman. They claimed the prosecutor was trying to whitewash the jury. The prosecution basically jumped up on its hind legs & argued, "Uh uhhh...they did it first!" They pointed to the Defense's use of their 6 peremptory challenges on white people. Ultimately, the final result was a jury of 8 white & 4 black men and women. The opening statements start Tuesday morning. Sex tapes, piss, underage girls, & threesomes...toss in the race card & you've got one helluva trial.

Rapper Papoose Responds!

Rapper Papoose dismissed the stories flying around the Internet that he tried to sneak a handcuff key into Rikers Island for his fiance, Remy Ma. He stated that he has always wore a chain around his neck containing certain house, car, and numerous keys into the prison during previous visits, but was never questioned over the key. He explained the prison official must have had a, "bad day", and wanted to question him about the key, which landed him a boot from the prison. He says he is confident his appeal will allow him back into the prison and marry his incarcerated fiance, Remy Ma, soon. Remy Ma Sentenced!!!

Remy Ma has been sentenced to serve an 8 year sentence for shooting a woman outside a New York Nightclub. This comes as a shocker in the hip hop community although she was facing 25 years for the crime. Also, her in- jail wedding plans were postponed after her fiance, rapper Papoose, was caught bringing in a handcuff key to the prison. DMX Arrested Again!!!

Rapper DMX was arrested again at 3am this morning after a long seven month investigation of animal cruelty. The rapper was not only charged with seven misdemeanor counts of animal charges, but with four felony charges of possession of drugs.
During the arrest, DMX barricaded himself inside his bedroom but eventually came out after ordered to do so by the tactical arrest team. This is the second arrest of DMX within a week. He was arrested in Arizona after speeding 100mph. It looks like DMX needs some spiritual guidance, or a knock upside his head to wake him up. source
